Assam: Guwahati electronics showroom stops sale of Chinese products

At a time when demands to boycott Chinese products are being raised in different parts of the country over the violent face-off in Galwan Valley where 20 Indian soldiers were killed, an electronics showroom in Guwahati has stopped selling gadgets and appliances manufactured in China.

The showroom, Next Electronics, in Guwahati's Ulubari area said it has decided not to sell Chinese products anymore.

Abhishek Soni, the owner, said they have already returned all Chinese products, including mobile phones, LED TVs, refrigerators, washing machines, among others.

"We have to change ourselves. If we change ourselves only then we will see a bigger change in next three-four years. We have to promote Indian products," Soni said.

"We want India to become an export hub. I have returned all Chinese products from my showroom," he said, adding that he appeals the people to boycott Chinese goods.

Meanwhile, the Assam Chamber of Commerce has also made an appeal to traders in the state to not procure any Chinese products.
